"Touch interweaves through physical and emotional interactions. It is expressed in our contacts, and it is often associated with longings. We want to keep in touch and stay in touch. Touch is what we crave, and what we fear losing.
The longing for touch is a wonderful testament to human perseverance. Although life is fraught with separations and losses, it has not diminished the power of yearning, an all-encompassing, complex, and fascinating emotion of dual characteristics. Rooted in the agony of absence, yearning for touch stems from the belief that the future holds promise and from the hope that in the conflict between absence and desire, desire wins."
