"The contradiction between muscularity and gestures of vulnerability has turned the female’s body into an effective metaphor for duality. But in seeking to express a single prominent quality, I turned to men. Choosing heads was more than a variation on the theme, The Part As A Whole. I saw heads as vessels, carriers in which we store all our life experiences, and I became curious about the phenomenon in which one experience may change life perception to such an extent that it allows nothing else to take hold. In many instances, it becomes the only face the world is allowed to see."
